Fives

The Pre-K Five program at St. Mark’s Preschool is designed for children who have completed a Fours program but are not eligible for the September 1 cut off date for kindergarten. Our curriculum is designed following the “Project Approach”. Learn more about the Pre-K Fives curriculum here.  The Head Teacher is Mrs. Wilderman, a former elementary teacher who holds a Master’s degree with a specialty in reading. Along with Assistant Teacher Mrs. Strazsky, who also hold a Master’s degree in Education, the Pre-K Fives provide a daily schedule that balances exploration of concepts, kindergarten readiness, and creativity along with time to play both indoors and out. Priority spaces are for currently enrolled students with birthdays between September 1 through December 31. Children with birthdays between June 15-August 30 will be considered on a case-by-case basis. *Please note that St. Mark’s Preschool does not have a school age endorsement and therefore cannot enroll children who will turn five before the end of the school year.

Hours:
Monday/Wednesday 9:00am-1:55pm

Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 9:00am-12:00pm (optional extended day until 1:55pm on Thursdays “PHYS Kids”)

Extra Enrichment Opportunities:
St. Mark's Preschool hosts many resources to provide extra enrichment following school dismissal, eliminating the need for an additional drop-off. These have included Soccer on the Great Lawn and Golf in Morrill Hall. The classes offered change according to the interests of the children and parents. Classes are on Tuesdays from 12:00-1:00pm.
