Three Turning Four Year Olds

Class size is held to ten or fewer children led by a head teacher and an assistant teacher. The 1:5 ratio allows small group work and extra attention from the teachers. The two Threes classes meet four days a week (Monday- Thursday). With a curriculum rich in social and academic skill building, which includes science and nature experiences, math and language arts foundation, music, art and cooking, the program is designed to engage children in a nurturing play-based environment . They learn about sharing, patience, following rules and becoming independent. The children are also exposed to letters, numbers, patterns, shapes and colors. Name recognition begins at day one! The children begin their experience at St. Mark's Preschool with their own set of skills, which the teachers are able to enhance at each child's individual pace.

Hours are Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon September through May.

Lunch Bunch:
Beginning in October, each child is able to extend his/her day on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. The program continues the activities of the morning with lunch, planned activities and outdoor play.  Pick-up is by 1:55 p.m.

Extra Enrichment Opportunities:
St. Mark's Preschool hosts many resources to provide extra enrichment following school dismissal, eliminating the need for an additional drop-off. These have included Soccer on the Great Lawn, Cooking in our kitchen and Karate in Morill Hall. The classes offered change according to the interests of the children and families.
